Dogecoin Skyrockets after Billionaire Mark Cuban claims it will hit $1

Entrepreneur and billionaire Mark Cuban is convinced that the cryptocurrency Dogecoin will reach a value of 1 dollar. He hints at this in a statement confirming the success of his Dallas Mavericks choice to accept DOGE for payments.
The @dallasmavs have done more than 20,000 #Dogecoin in transactions, making us the LARGEST #DOGECOIN MERCHANT IN THE WORLD ! We thank all of you and can only say that if we sell another 6,556,000,000 #DOGECOIN worth of Mavs merch, #dogecoin will DEFINITELY HIT $1 !!!🚀🚀🚀

According to Cuban, the Mavericks have traded more than 20,000 Dogecoins in recent days. This after the basketball club recently announced that it will accept DOGE as the currency for payments. The value of the digital coins traded corresponds to just over $ 1,000. Cuban claims that the Dallas Mavericks are now the largest trader in Dogecoin in the world. And if the club’s fans were to buy club stuff worth 6,556,000,000 DOGE in the future, he believes that the price of a DOGE will definitely exceed $ 1.
- Mark Cuban praised Dogecoin and blockchain in an interview on Cointelegraph this week.
- The “Shark Tank” favorite debated bitcoin isn’t a currency, or hedge against inflation.
- Cuban also promoted decentralized finance (DeFi) and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
“The entertainment value is so high, and then you add the entertainment value of the community where everybody’s just come together, and I get to put rocket ships in my tweets and ‘doge to the moon’ and all this. It’s just fun.”
– Mark Cuban
The price of DOGE has been advancing over the last few weeks as numerous celebrities, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk, have been tweeting about the cryptocurrency. Its market capitalization briefly surpassed $10 billion last month, at a time in which Snoop Dogg, Gene Simmons, and others joined in on the discussion around DOGE.
The cryptocurrency community is well-known for taking on philanthropic projects, which included helping different charity organizations. When it comes to Dogecoin specifically it made big headlines in 2014 after raising more than $25,000 worth of DOGE to let the Jamaican bobsleigh team attend the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

Dogecoin – A cryptocurrency that started as a joke
Although the currency has been created as something of a joke, DOGE has in recent months captured the interest of billionaires such as Mark Cuban and Elon Musk. Both of these celebrities have mentioned the cryptocurrency on social media.
However, Mark Cuban has previously mentioned DOGE as a learning tool for economics that provides the most entertainment possible for people’s money in the crypto market. But despite growing interest in Dogecoin payments at the Dallas Mavericks, Cuban claims he has not changed his mind about the cryptocurrency. When asked about this on Twitter, he replied that his opinion is the same and that he still has fun.
